The gardens of the Luxembourgish Horticultural Federation (FHL) offer a fine showcase for the expertise of companies and professionals in the Luxembourgish horticultural sector through eight exceptional gardens, created by seven landscape nurseries and one market gardener as part of the LUGA. As an observing member of the LUGA exhibition, the FHL represents 448 small and medium-sized businesses specialising in landscaping, nursery gardening, fruit growing, market gardening and floral art, as well as vocational and continuing training in various areas of company law, thereby contributing to the growth of this dynamic and pioneering sector.

The urban garden Barriere, meist stehst du dir selbst im Weg! invites us to reflect: is the real barrier what stands in front of us, or are we our own limit? This garden uses yew hedges to focus the eye on the centre, with a semi-circular barrier made of beams, mirrors displaying multilingual quotations, and a contrast between clinker pavers and natural stone slabs.
Founded in 2005 by Goedert Gilles, Luxembourg-based Verda Landschaftsbau specialises in landscaping for private individuals and businesses. From the outset, they have broadened their expertise, from garden design and maintenance to the creation of ponds, terraces and green roofs.
Under the direction of Gilles Goedert and with landscape architect Loris Bastin, they created the urban garden Voir et s’apercevoir. This innovative installation, which combines art and nature, incorporates mirrors arranged on a sage-coloured metal structure to generate a visual game in which passers-by are reflected through the vegetation, offering an escape from urbanity thanks to constantly changing reflections.
Founded in 1978 in Tandel by Jules Gillen, Gillen began by offering trees, shrubs and gardening services. Thanks to the quality of its plants and services, the company became increasingly well-known and diversified its range, offering perennials, shrubs and even garden plans designed by landscape architects. In 2023, his daughter Michèle took over the reins, managing a team of 50 people and innovating with creations such as natural swimming pools.
Under Michèle Gillen’s direction, landscape architects Stefania Piperidou, Simon Draily and Norbert Drese have created the urban garden Entre ciel et terre, an invitation to explore the hidden mysteries of nature by exposing the majestic roots of dead trees, symbols of life and connection with the earth, offering a reflection on hidden beauty and reconnection with the natural essence.

Philippe Wagener, gardener, organiser and partner, and Laurence Croisat, landscape architect, have created the urban garden Une Nature collective, a place of co-creation where individuals, through simple gestures, use the earth, water and light to support the balance of the ecosystem, collecting rainwater, capturing sunlight and enriching the soil with compost.

The Becker family has been involved in plants since 1980. After the Second World War, the business was transformed from a private rose breeder into a fruit nursery. Today, Bamschoul Becker in Steinsel offers an excellent range of products for the garden: plants, soil, care products and decorative items are available for sale at the nursery on the Steesel plateau. The range is rounded off by the planning department and the implementation teams.
The Bléihend Oase mat séissen Iwerraschungen urban garden, accessible via a metal arch, combines fragrant roses, edible plants, fruit for picking, a cosy corner, local materials, a gnarled tree offering shade, romantic lighting, climbing hops for privacy and a raised garden made of natural stone for easy access to the fruit.
Since 1988, Plantations Weisen has built on the experience and expertise it has acquired over the years. Today, the team is made up of two site managers, a landscape architect, a nurseryman and no fewer than 28 landscape gardeners and assistant gardeners, all of whom are mobilised on a daily basis to design and animate green spaces, breathing life and beauty into them, and who will close the Pergola bionique urban garden as part of the LUGA.
The Pergola bionique urban garden, a veritable island of freshness, wonder and sharing, features an innovative design based around a planted shade pergola, enabling people to reconnect with living things, with a reciprocal structure made of chestnut wood where each piece supports the next in a harmonious balance.
