LUGA is an open-air temporary exhibition organised in 2025 for the first time in Luxembourg, where visitors will be able to discover more than 50 installations: urban gardens, artistic and landscape installations, agricultural projects and living spaces, designed by Luxembourg and international landscape architects, artists, gardeners, farmers and growers, which will run from 7 May to 18 October 2025.
The LUGA is located at several sites throughout the City of Luxembourg and the City of Ettelbruck for the LUGA Nordstad. The exhibition takes place at four emblematic sites in Luxembourg City: the Edouard André municipal park, the Pétrusse valley, the Alzette valley and the Kirchberg, as well as in the town of Ettelbruck.
The exhibition runs from 7 May to 18 October 2025. The LUGA gardens and installations, located in the public space, are open to the public every day. Opening times for LUGA events and activities vary, however, depending on the location and the event.
The LUGA’s theme for 2025 is ‘Making the invisible visible’. Through this fascinating theme, LUGA reveals the natural and historical riches that shape our cities, and which are often unknown to the public. This theme is also the common thread running through the exhibition, as it addresses and reveals the seventeen major LUGA themes and areas: the environment, agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, food, biodiversity, urban ecology, cultural heritage, the arts, culture, well-being, sustainable development, the circular economy, social inclusion, technological innovation and sustainable tourism.
The LUGA exhibition is largely free and easy to access, as it takes place on public sites. However, two installations are subject to admission charges and ticket sales:
The landscape installation La Serre Merveilleuse, located in the Édouard André municipal park, will be accessible with an admission ticket due to the limited capacity of the site. Access to this installation will be subject to a charge, and prices and booking conditions will be announced shortly.
The art installation The Lower World by Susan Philipsz, presented in the Aquatunnel, is being produced in partnership with Mudam – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, a partner of LUGA 2025. Admission to the Aquatunnel also includes access to the Mudam.
Some specific activities and events (guided tours, workshops, conferences, private events) may require registration or participation fees.
The LUGA exhibition is organised by LUGA asbl with the financial support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, the City of Luxembourg, Nordstad in partnership with the City of Ettelbruck and in close collaboration with the Fédération Horticole Luxembourgeoise, as an observer member. LUGA 2025 is placed under the High Patronage of Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess.
LUGA ensures that the exhibition routes are easily accessible and well covered by public transportation. Within Luxembourg City, visitors can get around by a combination of walking, by taking elevators from the upper to the lower town, and various other means of soft mobility such as bicycles, buses, trains, funiculars or the tram.
Visitors wishing to follow the LUGA Nordstad route can travel by train, bus or bike to Ettelbruck to continue exploring the Urban Agricultural Trail.
Yes, the LUGA trails and exhibition are ideal for family visits with children. The LUGA also offers a varied program for children and families, with educational workshops, guided tours, shows and concerts that allow youngsters to discover nature, art and ecology in a playful way.
Yes, the LUGA ensures that a large proportion of its sites are accessible to persons with reduced mobility (PRM) and strollers. However, due to the topography and configuration of certain sites, PRM access will not be possible everywhere. A special map will be available during the exhibition to help visitors find their way around and follow the trails adapted for PRMs.
The LUGA programme offers over 1,000 events to enjoy during the six months of the exhibition from 7 May to 18 October 2025: conferences, sports activities, relaxation sessions, fun activities, creative workshops, educational walks, gardening sessions and many other events to recharge your batteries, get inspired and share a moment of well-being in Luxembourg.
Registration information for workshops and events are available on the LUGA website. Some events are free to attend, while others require prior registration and/or the purchase of a ticket due to the limited number of participants available.
Yes, guided tours are offered by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO), highlighting the various LUGA trails and themes in 2025.

The LUGA is an event designed to respect the environment, free from pesticides and with the need for all project sponsors to adhere to the exhibition’s eco-responsible charter. This charter stipulates that every development, installation, event and promotional action must be carried out in accordance with ecological principles. In addition, the LUGA places particular emphasis on promoting soft mobility, with the aim of raising public awareness of the challenges of sustainable urban mobility while improving people’s quality of life. Encouraging local, regional and seasonal products, the LUGA strives to reduce the carbon footprint at every stage and integrates projects into a circular economy logic.
The LUGA is also an ‘anti-waste’ event, which is part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture’s campaign to raise awareness of food waste. The aim of the campaign is to raise public awareness on the issues surrounding food waste, and to encourage people to do the right thing.
