The earth, water, and light – these essential elements for the flourishing of Nature – are provided through the individual initiative of the anonymous walker. To nourish the vegetables in the garden, compost is made available in wooden bins; the water provided by the sky is collected through a faucet placed at the center of the installation. A set of adjustable mirrors captures the sun’s rays, allowing the plants to absorb UV light. The bench, extended by a dry stone wall (a refuge for pollinating insects), invites one to pause for a moment. It is a time for the walker to reflect on their contribution to Nature, which, in return, nourishes them: a potential symbiosis.
Paysages Wagener-Kox (FHL)
Une Nature collective
The company Paysages Wagener-Kox brings together several skills (nursery, garden maintenance, and landscape design) with a strong focus on its commitment to societal and ecological sustainability. For over forty years, it has been dedicated to creating spaces and landscapes that reveal our true nature, environments that bring us joy, and settings that blend seamlessly with everyday life, all while maintaining a constant respect for the environment.
They are part of the eight members of the Luxembourgish Horticultural Federation, which includes gardeners and a market gardener, who will design a garden for the LUGA exhibition.
Materials: dry stone wall made of Fontenoille stone, regional (Bitbourg) peat-free potting soil, and compost produced in the nursery.
Vegetation: Myosotis sylvatica, Geranium phaeum, Centaurea montana, Anthriscus sylvestris, Achillea millefolium ‘Cerise Queen’, Calamintha nepeta, Campanula glomerata, Persicaria bistorta ‘Superba’, Geranium pratense, Knautia arvensis, Malva moschata, Foeniculum vulgare, small fruit trees, and vegetables from the garden.
The gardens of the Fédération Horticole Luxembourgeoise (FHL) offer a fine showcase for the expertise of companies and professionals in the Luxembourg horticultural sector through eight unusual gardens, created by seven landscape nurseries and one market gardener as part of the LUGA.
As an observing member of the LUGA exhibition, the FHL represents 448 small and medium-sized companies specialising in landscaping, nursery gardening, fruit growing, market gardening and floral art, as well as in vocational and continuing training, as well as in various areas of company law, thus contributing to the growth of this dynamic and innovative sector.
