This garden aims to illustrate that there are many paths in life that one can take and countless opportunities to seize. However, we often stand in our own way, letting these chances slip by. With this project, we create a metaphor for exactly this concept. The designed path symbolizes a long journey. As one walks along it, obstacles appear in the form of beams and mirrors. The mirrors are attached to the beams, making a profound truth visible: the greatest obstacle on the road to achieving one’s goals is often oneself.

The path gradually narrows toward the back of the garden, creating a sense of depth that emphasizes the length and challenge of life’s journey. Tall yew hedges on either side frame the path, naturally directing the viewer’s gaze along this trajectory. Along the way, pointed stones invite visitors to pause, reflect, and contemplate how often they have already stood in their own way.

This garden is designed to encourage deep thought. It highlights how frequently we limit ourselves—not because of external barriers, but due to false beliefs such as “I can’t do this.” By becoming aware of this, we can open the door to new possibilities and a fresh perspective on the paths we choose to follow in life.
