#Landscape and art installationsSome fifteen unusual huts hidden away in remote areas of the park will be designed as part of the ‘Festival of Huts’ (Festival des Cabanes), organised by national youth service, the Service National de la Jeunesse (SNJ), the order of consulting architects and engineers, Ordre des Architectes et des Ingénieurs-Conseils (OAI) as well as LUGA.
These temporary installations will illustrate the LUGA themes such as ecology and sustainability. The colourful, original huts will be made mostly from recycled materials, out of concern for sustainability and climate protection.
Fancy a challenge?
The competition is open to teams of 4 to 6 young people, aged between 12 and 26, living in Luxembourg or the Greater Region, to design a cabin for the LUGA 2025 exhibition under the theme of ‘Making the invisible visible’. The National Youth Service (SNJ) is a public service set up in 1964 to help implement youth policy and to be a resource centre for the youth sector, currently under the authority of the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth.
The SNJ includes 5 pedagogical centres offering educational activities to young people, 11 local branches offering individual support to youths and 5 regional offices monitoring educational quality in non-formal education services.
The mission of the Order of Consulting Architects and Engineers, as defined by Luxembourg law, is to guarantee the application of the rights and obligations of the 5 OAI professions of public interest: architect, interior architect, consulting engineer, urban planner and landscape architect/engineer.
In addition to its legal, professional organisation and public interest missions, the OAI promotes the true economic, social, artistic and cultural dimension of its members’ work, to create a sustainable, intelligent and high-quality living environment.
