Around fifteen unusual and hidden cabins, located in the remote areas of the park, are designed as part of the Festival des Cabanes, organized by the National Youth Service (SNJ), the Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers (OAI), and LUGA.
The Festival des Cabanes is a construction and creativity competition in architecture initiated by the National Youth Service (SNJ) and the Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers (OAI). Groups of young people between the ages of 12 and 26 will be invited to develop and build a temporary cabin project based on the theme “Making the Invisible Visible.” The 5th edition will take place as part of LUGA 2025 – Luxembourg Urban Garden.
The main objective of the competition is to bring together young people from different backgrounds around a common project, providing them with the opportunity to express themselves creatively and gain new experiences. Additionally, the festival aims to raise awareness among young people about sustainable construction, promote artisanal trades, and introduce them to the professions of architect and consulting engineer.
These temporary installations reflect LUGA’s themes, such as ecology and sustainability. These colorful, playful, and original cabins, made largely from recycled materials, will be open for visitors during the exhibition for several weeks.
