This exhibition explores the relationship between human and non-human living beings in Luxembourg city through architecture, urban planning, and art.
Taking LUGA 2025’s green spaces as a starting point, “Living Thresholds: Towards Cohabitation in Architectural Design” maps the city’s animals and plants cartographically, revealing places of encounter between humans, flora and fauna. Alongside these local “thresholds”, it also presents a series of architectural and art projects, ones which recognize the presence of other species as design opportunities to make our cities more resilient. Far from considering them as nuisances, the exhibition invites viewers to perceive animals, plants, and other living organisms as what they have always been: our urban cohabitants.
