Table ronde “À l’écoute du vivant”
À la découverte de l’éco-acoustique avec les artistes Benoît Renaudin et Pablo Diserens
An event dedicated to listening as a critical, creative, and ecological tool for connecting with the world and the landscapes we share with other species — featuring artists Benoît Renaudin and Pablo Diserens. Organised by d-o-t-s as part of the Aquacanta project.
Join us for “Listening to the Living,” an event dedicated to listening as a way of connecting with and coexisting alongside the environments we inhabit. Organised by d-o-t-s (Laura Drouet & Olivier Lacrouts) as part of their ongoing project Aquacanta, the event invites participants to explore listening as a critical, creative, and ecological tool for engaging with the world.
The event takes the form of a three-part round table bringing together artists Benoît Renaudin and Pablo Diserens for a shared exploration of their respective eco-acoustic practices.
1. “Troubled Waters: Exploring River Ecosystems through Sound Objects” — talk by Benoît Renaudin
Benoît Renaudin will present his research and creative work at the intersection of design, performance, and experimental music. Currently pursuing a PhD within the SACRe programme at ENSAD (Paris) and HEAD – Geneva, his project Créer les portes-voix du vivant (“Creating the Megaphones of the Living”) investigates how design can be used to forge new relationships with ecosystems. Through interactive objects, scenographies, and sound-based installations, Renaudin seeks to make the voices of the living world more audible and perceptible – revealing the ecological potential of attentive design practices.

2. “Listening Toward the Permeable” — talk by Pablo Diserens
Pablo Diserens will offer an immersive presentation of their artistic and acoustic fieldwork through a projection of images and environmental recordings gathered from various landscapes. Taking inspiration from the permeable skin of amphibians, Pablo approaches listening as a way of becoming porous – a state in which the boundaries between self and world dissolve into a continuous, filtering exchange. Through sound, somatic attunement, bioacoustic exploration, and artistic research, Pablo proposes a way of existing among aquatic bodies, nurturing interspecies kinship and a more fluid, planetary way of thinking.

3. Conversation moderated by d-o-t-s
In the final part of the round table, the two artists will engage in a dialogue with the audience moderated by d-o-t-s, discussing the political and poetic dimensions of listening and the role of sound in reshaping relationships with place and the more-than-human worlds. This open exchange will offer an opportunity to reflect on permeability, sonic intimacy, and listening as a transformative, living practice.
