Poetry Slam David Friedrich

Viewers of NDR and slam enthusiasts know David Friedrich as a host and performance poet. And no, we’re not talking about the guy from Dschungelcamp—he just happens to have the same name. That one’s a drummer. This David Friedrich from the world of poetry slam doesn’t play any instruments, but he did spend a year hosting Kummerkasten on the children’s channel KiKA.

Active as an artist since 2006, he has won just about every title there is: German Champion, Hamburg Champion, Schleswig-Holstein Champion—he was even Bavarian Champion once. But does that really matter? Not really. Awards are fleeting. Poetry can’t truly be measured. It can only be marveled at.
