Ettelbruck, 26 March 2025 – The LUGA 2025 has officially launched the construction of its temporary structures at Nordstad, marking a key milestone in the development of this major exhibition. The event began with a press conference at the Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck (CAPE), followed by a symbolic moment: the ground-breaking ceremony at the Däichwisen, in front of the Däichhal, the future site of the LUGA Agriculture Hub.
The conference was inaugurated by Mrs. Martine Hansen, Minister for Agriculture, Food, and Viticulture, alongside Mr. Bob Steichen, Mayor of Ettelbruck City, who underscored the pivotal role of LUGA in enhancing regional development and fostering local dynamism. They also emphasized the exhibition’s dedication to showcasing seasonal and regional products, while celebrating Luxembourg’s unique terroir, thereby reinforcing a more sustainable approach to agriculture and food production.
Mr. Sacha Oberweis, general coordinator of technical services for the City of Ettelbruck, and Mrs. Danielle Goergen, project manager of LUGA Nordstad, outlined the key features of the programme. LUGA Nordstad promises a dynamic and innovative agenda, bolstered by local and regional partners, including urban gardens, immersive landscape installations, pioneering agricultural projects, and demonstrations of cutting-edge technological advancements.
This inaugural event marks the start of the transformation of the site, which from 7 May 2025 will host a space dedicated to contemporary and future agriculture, as well as sustainable production and food.
