On Thursday 6 June 2024, LUGA asbl had the opportunity to present the LUGA – Luxembourg Urban Garden – exhibition, which will be held in Luxembourg from 7 May to 18 October 2025, during a promotional trip to Manchester organised by Visit Luxembourg.
The workshop provided an opportunity to meet local journalists and professionals from the tourism sector and to showcase the Grand Duchy’s heritage, history and expertise through our temporary exhibition, which will be held in emblematic locations highly prized by international tourists in the heart of Luxembourg City and the city of Ettelbruck.
The six-month open-air exhibition promises international visitors a unique experience where know-how, the implementation of sustainable concepts and the promotion of green professions are presented through urban gardens, landscape and artistic installations, agricultural projects and ephemeral living spaces. The exhibition will include inspiring stories of environmentally-friendly projects, activities that appeal to a wide audience and meeting places where people can share a moment of shared well-being.
Why Manchester? In addition to the brand new Luxair air link, the UK market has seen a significant increase in recent years in terms of travel intentions to Luxembourg, making it a key market for local tourism and a great opportunity for visitors from Manchester to discover Luxembourg through its nature as well as the colourful gardens of the LUGA.
We would like to thank the Luxembourg for Tourism team for organising the Destination Workshop in Manchester, in particular Sebastian Reddeker (CEO de Luxembourg for Tourism), Sarah Pitt (Head of Corporate & Brand Communications), Patrick Even (PR & Travel Trade) and Brigitte Goergen (PR & International Press), and numerous partners in Luxembourg with whom we were fortunate to exchange ideas and create new synergies for the LUGA project, such as Chris Peeters (Luxembourg City Tourist Office), Iuliana Gana (Hotel le Royal Luxembourg), Stéphane Singéry (Clos Jangli) and Esther Steinmann (Brasserie Nationale S. A.).
Luxembourg is opening its doors to the world and is looking forward to welcoming international visitors to the unique LUGA 2025 experience.
