On May 5th, Ann Muller, General Coordinator of LUGA – Luxembourg Urban Garden, was a guest on the Bistro Show, hosted by journalist Céline Agnès on Radio ARA.

The program focused on the core principles of LUGA: sustainability, circular economy, and urban ecology. From its design to dismantling, the project is fully committed to a sustainable approach. Materials and plants—mostly annuals—are carefully selected with this in mind. Trees, for example, are not planted directly in the ground but placed in containers, making them easy to move. Above all, the exhibition serves as a living laboratory demonstrating how to create greener, more sustainable cities.

Architects have also been deeply involved in reflecting as well as preserving the natural sites of their gardens, notably Racine Carrée and Atelier Ty Maap with their garden Le Chant de l’Alzette, which draws direct inspiration from the Alzette river that runs alongside their urban garden. LUGA also provides an important platform for the younger generation of architects, featuring gardens developed by the Young Creators in the Pétrusse valley.

LUGA is not just for gardening or architecture enthusiasts: activities and events will be offered for all ages to raise public awareness about the challenges of sustainable cities and urban nature.

Ann Muller’s interview can be listened to below or on the Radio ARA website.
