This week, a new LUGA project was launched in the Pétrusse valley, marking the start of the ‘Life on the verge’ urban garden designed by South African landscape designer Leon Kluge. Kluge, internationally renowned as an award-winning landscape designer, botanist and presenter, aims to highlight the beauty of the plants and insects found along roads and motorways, which are often overlooked by the general public. Located at the entrance to the Pétrusse valley, just a stone’s throw from the Édouard André municipal park, this garden highlights these natural areas, often considered insignificant, but essential to maintaining biodiversity, both plant and animal.

The work is currently being carried out by the Vereal team, who are actively developing this singular space. This garden will highlight the importance of these areas, which are often overlooked in our cities. It offers an opportunity to rediscover and appreciate the nature that thrives close to urban areas and to contribute to the preservation of local flora and fauna.
