The morning show Volle Kanne on the German channel ZDF recently turned its attention to Luxembourg, with a special focus on LUGA – Luxembourg Urban Garden, the unique open-air exhibition unfolding this year across Luxembourg City and Ettelbruck.

Ann Muller, General Coordinator of LUGA, guided journalist Marina Wenk through the exhibition route. Viewers were able to grasp the essence of this one-of-a-kind project: rethinking our relationship with nature in urban environments through innovative urban gardens, landscape and art installations, agricultural projects as well as living spaces.

The reporter visited Life on the Verge, a garden designed by Leon Kluge. This space highlights the often-overlooked plants of urban wastelands—species that play a crucial role in biodiversity. These wild plants provide essential shelter for insects and animals, contributing to the ecological balance of our cities.

The segment also featured a visit to Après l’effondrement by OUPAPO, a wild and poetic garden that embodies chaos and collapse. Like all of LUGA’s living artworks, this garden is constantly evolving with nature. Over six months, the exhibition acts as an open-air laboratory, inviting visitors to reflect on how we live together in cities and how we can share and shape greener urban spaces.
