Next Nature – Natur im Wandel
Lecture by Austrian landscape architect Anna Detzlhofer on the topic of urban nature in transition and how well-integrated nature strengthens the resilience and quality of life of cities
Urban nature is constantly evolving. Climatic challenges call for new adaptation strategies. At the same time, the preservation of biodiversity is becoming increasingly important. Yet it is not only ecological aspects that matter – social change as well as people’s wishes and needs are also reflected in the design of urban open spaces.
The city landscape of the future will be resilient to climate change, foster biodiversity, and bring people and nature together in harmonious interaction. Only through innovative concepts and holistic planning can cities become more sustainable, more liveable, and better prepared for the future.
