The Luxembourg Commission for UNESCO is pleased to participate in LUGA, this great celebration of nature. This summer, it is organizing a series of conferences as part of its “Les Rendez-vous de l’UNESCO” event series to present the UNESCO programmes that encourage us to make peace with nature.Patrick Dondelinger, focal point at the Ministry of Culture for the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, and Thierry Cumini, Creative Director at Pulsa Pictures, present their video documentation of ‘knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe’ as a specific domain of living heritage according to UNESCO. How can this cultural heritage, constantly recreated by communities and groups in response to their environment, their interaction with nature and their history, be documented so that it can be passed on to present and future generations, in Luxembourg and throughout the world, while respecting sustainable development?
