LUGA was honoured to take part in the Festival de la Francophonie, a major event bringing together French-speaking countries from around the world to celebrate the French language, cultural diversity and the values shared within the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).

Invited by the Luxembourgish Embassy in Paris and ‘Luxembourg – Let’s make it happen’, LUGA had the honour of representing the Grand Duchy in the Luxembourg pavilion. It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Xavier Bettel, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg, as well as H.E. Mr Marc Ungeheuer, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Paris. Their presence underlined Luxembourg’s active role as a member of the OIF.

The meeting with Ms Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of the OIF, was a warm and enriching moment, underlining the crucial role that the Grand Duchy plays in the French-speaking world, especially in this year when Luxembourg and France are celebrating 70 years of cultural cooperation. As part of the Francophonie Festival, LUGA’s general coordinator, Ms Ann Muller, presented the LUGA exhibition, which will showcase the richness and diversity of Luxembourg’s heritage in the Grand Duchy in 2025.
