Kimsar’s walk-concert lasts approximately forty-five minutes.
The indicated location is the starting point of the concert, which unfolds along a short stroll with several stops allowing for rest.
Custom-designed for each garden, the concert is woven around universal themes that highlight local heritage. It reveals both what is unique to the location and what connects us across ages and borders. The repertoire blends early music pieces—troubadour songs, Renaissance tunes, and mysterious legends—with much more recent songs, created by the audience the day before! Indeed, prior to each concert, Kimsar offers a collective creation workshop during which the public is invited to write their own “endemic legend.”
4 workshops are offered as part of LUGA, for ages 7 and up (see events for more information):
Saturday, May 24, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
Saturday, June 7, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Saturday, July 5, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
This process gradually integrates local narratives and imaginations into a shared repertoire, connecting different eras, audiences, and places. Just as traveling musicians once collected stories along their journeys, Kimsar has been collecting and sharing songs created since 2022 in Marseille, rural Provence, Paris, and Luxembourg.
