On Wednesday 3 July 2024, the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr Jean-Louis Thill, warmly welcomed the organisers of Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA), as well as the Belgian winners of the LUGA, in the presence of Mr Marc Angel, Vice-President of the European Parliament, to present the broad outlines of the exhibition and more than thirty landscape installations that will be on display from 7 May to 18 October 2025 in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
LUGA – Luxembourg Urban Garden is the first national exhibition, largely free of charge, of urban gardens, landscape and artistic installations, agricultural projects and living spaces, organised outdoors in Luxembourg City and Ettelbruck in the Nordstad. Under the theme “making the invisible visible“, LUGA is an invitation to discover or rediscover Luxembourg and its heritage through urban gardens.
Among the numerous landscape creations at the exhibition are ephemeral gardens designed by Belgian landscape architects and young designers who took part in the European calls for projects/calls for applications launched by LUGA and were selected by international juries.
The presentation showcased the creations of Belgian winners such as Le Chant de l’Alzette by Racine Carrée and Atelier Ty Maap, Endymion fait by Studio SNCDA and TIJD EN VLIJT, and young designers with their urban gardens such as Timeo by Rien Veulemans and Blue Sky by Jérôme Goedseels.
