Corn Maze

Each year, Landjugend Zenter a.s.b.l. creates an impressive corn maze covering an area of around 2 hectares – roughly the size of two football pitches.
This year, the maze has been specially designed for the LUGA Nordstad in Ettelbruck. Viewed from above, the layout forms the outline of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Using GPS-assisted sowing technology, the paths are planned and executed with remarkable precision. Animal shapes and seeded areas are also included as landmarks within the maze.

This technique, known as precision farming, allows for resource-efficient sowing and gives visitors a fascinating insight into modern agricultural practices.

Lëtzebuerger Landjugend a Jongbaueren (LLJ)

The Lëtzebuerger Landjugend a Jongbaueren (LLJ) is a Luxembourg-based organisation that brings together young people from rural backgrounds—as well as anyone with an interest in country life, agriculture, nature, and social engagement. It was founded to offer young people a space for exchange, learning, and action, supporting them in their personal, social, professional, cultural, and spiritual development.

More than just recreational activities, the LLJ offers training programmes, meet-ups, conferences, and solidarity initiatives—locally, nationally, and internationally. The organisation is also active in development cooperation and supports various humanitarian projects, mainly in African countries, thanks to the commitment and initiative of its members.

Organisationally, the LLJ is divided into several regional groups, each organising activities tailored to the needs and interests of young people in their area. One of these is LLJ Zenter.

There are seven regional groups across Luxembourg, each responsible for organising local events and activities. While their work is locally focused, they are united by shared values: social commitment, friendship, personal growth, and openness to the world.

LLJ Zenter

LLJ Zenter (Lëtzebuerger Landjugend a Jongbaueren – Zenter a.s.b.l.) is one of the seven regional groups of the national organisation Lëtzebuerger Landjugend a Jongbaueren a.s.b.l. Founded in 2005, it is based in the central region of Luxembourg, particularly around the municipalities of Mersch and Colmar-Berg. Its mission is to energise and support young people from rural areas by offering opportunities for personal, social, and cultural development.

Among its flagship activities is the Landjugend-Power-Aktioun, a biennial project that brings together all LLJ regional groups to carry out a voluntary initiative for the public good, contributing to the well-being of the local community. Another highlight is the Mähdreschercross, a unique sporting event held every two years in Rammerech. Attracting over 6,000 spectators, it fosters team spirit and a strong sense of camaraderie.

During the Christmas season, LLJ Zenter also organises the Christmas Tour – a festive parade of decorated tractors travelling through local villages, spreading joy to children and elderly residents alike.
