A chaotic landscape results from a rocky collapse, but the cauterising power of plant colonisation creates a paradoxically hospitable place.
Based on the geomorphology of the site, the garden “After the Collapse” is organized around a rocky scree which constitutes the framework of the garden and creates a place dominated by chaos. It shows the final phase of the invisible movement of the cliffs. It is a garden of reconquest that showcases the cauterizing power of plant colonization. The pioneer vegetation which takes possession of the place softens the chaos and brutality generated by the shock of the collapse. The piles of materials, however, create places with contrasting atmospheres. The visitor will be able to sit and observe to what extent these spaces develop changing atmospheres as well as a multitude of habitats for a whole procession of species.
