On October 18, in the presence of Ms. Martine Hansen, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, and Ms. Lydie Polfer, Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, the LUGA Lab, located in the heart of Parc Odendahl, came alive with a festive day full of emotions and discoveries for the LUGA Closing Festival. Light and sound shows, creative workshops, artistic performances, interactive installations, and concerts immersed the public in a universe where culture and nature celebrated the conclusion of the LUGA open-air exhibition.
Visitors explored the LUGA spaces via the Hop-on Hop-off shuttle, attending a series of performances in the urban gardens and enjoying a final day of artistic discoveries. From contemporary circus to dance, music, and theater, the Collectif Primavez, Koplabunz, Ampersand Variations, Jill Crovisier, and the Junior Company of the CND Luxembourg offered the audience a poetic journey through the exhibition gardens.
Music also played a central role in the closing, from local harmonies supported by the UGDA to contemporary performances blending dance, humor, and creativity. From Trioman Orchestri to Cie Bakhus, and then LAAKE and Luc Amoros, the artists provided a sensory journey combining sound, movement, and light. The evening concluded spectacularly with MISSIV’s Tree Mapping and the hypnotic electro universe of Sun Glitters.
Throughout the day, the audience explored art and nature through creative and sensory workshops: Irina Moons with Lugraphie, Irina Simoncini with her Tisanes revisitées and Bar Olfactif, Léa Valet with Architecture végétale, Flori Fogarasi de Landsheere with artistic herbariums, Léa Schroeder with ceramic painting, Sandra Romanelli with the Japanese botanical printing Tataki Zomé, and Curieux Bestiaire with collages and micro-editions. To close this playful interlude, the collective Waxwing enchanted young and old alike with Circus Barbar, an interactive installation combining puppets, automata, and poetry.
Complementing this wide range of activities, visitors also delighted in culinary offerings from LUGA’s gastronomic partners — BAC, Sang a Klang, De Gudde Wëllen, and Café des Artistes — with a variety of dishes and drinks, making conviviality another highlight of the event.
The following day, Sunday, October 19, 2025, visitors continued the LUGA closing celebrations in the heart of Ettelbruck and at the Däichhal in a festive agricultural atmosphere. The city experienced a day dedicated to conviviality, music, and tradition, bringing together young and old around an emotionally rich program.
From noon, visitors shared a communal lunch at the Däichhal, celebrating local flavors with a generous menu. At 2:00 PM, festivities officially opened at the church square with the departure of the Bauerecortège, a colorful agricultural parade featuring vintage machinery, farm animals, local producers, and folklore groups. The parade then moved to the Däichwisen, where celebrations continued in a rustic, countryside atmosphere.
On site, visitors and families enjoyed an open-air bar and Biergarten hosted by DJ Dee, while children explored a parent-powered theater-carousel, wooden games, and a soap-making workshop. The evening continued at the Däichhal with a Thé Dansant, followed by live concerts from The Cookies and Fanatic 5, closing the LUGA Nordstad in a festive and convivial atmosphere.
These two days of the LUGA Closing Festival perfectly reflected the six months of the exhibition: a celebration of nature, creativity, human connection, and Luxembourg’s rich cultural heritage. Each visitor left with a unique experience, full of emotions and discoveries.
