Landewyck Park is one of the oldest parks in the city of Luxembourg and has besides given its name to a new neighbourhood in the Nei Hollerich PAP.The park was
created as part of the construction of the new Heintz van Landewyck tobacco factory in the 1890s, when the headquarters in the upper town became too small. Jos Heintz, son of the company’s founder Jean-Pierre Heintz and his wife Joséphine van Landewyck, had plans for the new site in the municipality of Hollerich, which was still independent at the time, that went far beyond a mere production site. He wanted to make it a meeting place for family and business partners, and the chosen site offered enough space to realise numerous spectacular ideas.Today, the park covers 1.2 hectares and is classified as a national monument. As part of the ‘Nei Hollerich’ project, it will be handed over to the City of Luxembourg in a few years’ time, and thus become accessible to the public. Until then, certain measures must still be taken to ensure that the park can be used by everyone and fulfil its function as a central green lung and a place of relaxation and leisure for local residents.

Landimmo Real Estate, as the owner of the park and project sponsor of LUGA 2025, is offering guided tours ‘through the ages’ on three dates in spring, summer and autumn this year.
