Land-Art Beedabei LUGA 2025 – Compass MegaStar
Art that unites and keeps blooming: Distribution of Beedabei planters
Be part of when art is created – and continues to bloom.
Take a flower box home – and become part of a powerful symbol for the future.
The Beedabei Compass MegaStar is more than just a work of art
It is a living symbol of connection, cooperation, and a flourishing future. On June 5, 2025, a radiant yellow compass rose made of 40 Beedabei bee-feeding flower boxes will be created in the middle of the LTEtt Arboretum as part of LUGA. Enhanced by a European star made of 10 more balcony boxes from Rhineland-Palatinate, this impressive 12 x 12 meter installation will shine far beyond borders.
A European collaborative project
Planted by students from the Lycée Technique Agricole, Parc Merveilleux, the Saargärtner, the Millenoacht Nursery, and Gartencenter Schmitz, the Compass MegaStar shows how species protection and cross-border cooperation work in real life. Each individual flower box is hand-signed and numbered by the renowned artist Peter H. Kalb – making it a unique piece with a message.
A moment that keeps growing
A particularly impressive highlight: Selected boxes will feature the first blooming of a newly selected, bee-friendly yellow rose. During the event, this rose will be officially named by Minister of Agriculture Martine Hansen.
A work of art goes out into the world
At around 4:00 PM, the dynamic part of the project begins: The yellow, recognizable Beedabei boxes will be given away for free to visitors. The artwork visibly dissolves – but continues to live on: in gardens, on balconies, and in the heart of our society. Each box becomes a living ambassador for biodiversity, sustainability, and a united Europe.
