Want to get your hands dirty and learn how to grow your own vegetable garden?

Join us for a series of fun and educational workshops, open to all—young and old!

Workshop Program

🌱 Workshop 1: Planning My Garden – Tuesday, 27 May
Learn how to organise your vegetable garden with practical advice and simple tools. Each participant will receive a planning kit.

Schedule: 11:00 – 12:30 & 12:30 – 14:00

🌾 Workshop 2: Sowing in the Garden – Thursday, 19 June
Discover how to prepare the soil for direct seeding and try a winning plant combination: beans & parsnips. Take home seeds personalized by LUGA.

🪴 Workshop 3: Sowing in Pots – Thursday, 17 July
Why, how, and what to sow in pots? Experiment with a great combination: lettuce & cabbage. Leave with seeds or a freshly sown pot.

💧 Workshop 4: Water Collection & Smart Irrigation – Wednesday, 27 August
Learn simple and eco-friendly ways to collect and use water in your garden. Experiment with different irrigation systems (pumps, ollas, gravity-fed) and explore raised garden beds suitable for everyone.

♻️ Workshop 5: Compost, Vermicompost & Bokashi (Even in an Apartment!) – Saturday, 6 September (as part of the event Samedis Solidaires)
Learn how to turn food waste into valuable compost, with or without a garden, while avoiding unpleasant odors or toxic pitfalls. Discover the incredible life forms that thrive in compost!

Schedule: 12:30 – 14:00 & 14:00 – 15:30

🍂 Workshop 6: Winter Mulching & Covered Crops – Tuesday, 7 October
Protect your crops from the cold and extend your harvests with mulching techniques and covered gardening.

Practical Information

✔️ Free workshops

✔️ Registration is recommended via Luxembourg Ticket. People who are not registered can also join us, subject to availability (15 participants per workshop)

✔️ Workshops are accessible to all and take place around raised garden beds suitable for people with reduced mobility, seniors, and children

✔️ Children are welcome from age 7, accompanied by an adult

✔️ You can attend a single workshop or join the full series

✔️ Gardening tools and materials are provided

✔️ Each workshop is offered at two different times, with the same content, to allow more participants to take part

✔️ Workshops are held in French (questions and exchanges possible in English, German, or Luxembourgish)

✔️ Please wear weather-appropriate clothing (hat, etc.) and bring a water bottle
