Every year, the town of Ettelbruck, in collaboration with the ARCADE project of the Social Office, organises the ‘Bamaktioun’ event in collaboration with schools. The aim of this initiative is to raise pupils’ awareness of nature-based activities, and it fits in perfectly with their science lessons.
In 2024, Bamaktioun took place from 25 to 29 November, in conjunction with National Tree Day on 16 November, and once again involved cycles 3 and 4 of the Ettelbruck primary school. This event is also part of the LUGA 2025 exhibition pre-programme, ‘sowing in 2023, harvesting in 2025’, in which the City of Ettelbruck is actively participating as part of LUGA Nordstad 2025.
The planting took place on the site of the ‘Auf dem Moor’ playground in Ettelbruck, in collaboration with the municipality’s environmental department. This year, 65 children took part and planted 60 metres of hedges. To round off the event, each child received a sandwich and a local Ettelbruck apple juice.
Many thanks to the town of Ettelbruck, the ecological service, the ARCADE project of the Social Office and the fundamental schools for their contribution to this memorable initiative!
