From May to October 2025, Luxembourg will host LUGA, a temporary exhibition of urban gardens on the theme “Making the Invisible Visible.” Designed following a European competition, the gardens highlight biodiversity, local know-how, and the importance of nature in cities.

VEREAL carried out all the preparatory and construction work, respecting strict guidelines: sustainable and reusable materials, no plastic, no concrete, and anticipation of dismantling. These constraints became an opportunity to innovate and test new technical solutions.

Building differently
Through LUGA 2025, VEREAL has demonstrated its ability to meet technical and environmental challenges. These exceptional projects proved that sustainable construction is possible by relying on local resources and environmentally friendly methods.

Jardins de la Fédération horticole luxembourgeoise
At the foot of the Pescatore Foundation, VEREAL installed corten steel planters, built a wooden promenade using local timber, and created the Literary Tree in solid larch. The project showcases national horticultural expertise and highlights the adaptability of the teams to material and site constraints.

Solum: soil permeability
Below the Pfaffenthal, the Solum garden raises awareness about water management. VEREAL installed sandstone blocks sourced directly from Luxembourg quarries and built a custom-made reed structure. The logistics were complex: delivering 2–3 ton blocks in a narrow street and placing them precisely on a sloping ground.

Après l’effondrement
This garden imagines a landscape shaped by a natural landslide, where spontaneous vegetation regains its place. A walkway punctuated by arches plays with light and shadow while promoting local biodiversity.

Triptyque
The Triptyque garden, at the foot of the Ecological Movement, is arranged on three levels: a garden on Rue Vauban, a wooden terrace with furniture designed by VEREAL, and a flowering orchard along the Alzette. Together, they form an edible meadow that supports biodiversity.
