The LSRS is organizing a study day on the subject of ‘Religions between nature and culture’. Here nature is understood as the biosphere of which humans are a part, and in which they assume a place that has been called into question by recent approaches in the human sciences and philosophy. Moreover, linking nature, culture and religion allows us to revisit the origin stories, particularly the Genesis narrative, which some consider to be at the root of the exploitation and destruction of the environment.

The LSRS is organizing a study day on the topic “Religions Between Nature and Culture.”
In this context, nature is understood as the biosphere — the living world of which humans are a part — and the role humans play within it is being challenged by recent developments in the humanities and philosophy. Moreover, linking nature, culture, and religion allows for a re-examination of origin stories, particularly the Genesis narrative, which some see as contributing to the exploitation and destruction of the environment.
