This class, inspired by traditional dances from West Africa, offers a dynamic and progressive learning experience through across-the-floor exercises and the creation of a collective choreography.
What to expect in this class:
• Step-by-step learning of traditional West African dances
• Rhythmic exploration through movement sequences and travel steps
• Live musical accompaniment (djembe, dundun, balafon) or recorded music
• A blend of influences, including the Acogny Technique (École des Sables – Senegal) and both traditional and urban West African dance styles
• Adaptability to suit the group’s age, level, and expectations
• Indoor or outdoor practice, depending on the conditions and needs
Who is it for?
This class is open to everyone, from complete beginners to more experienced dancers, thanks to a teaching approach tailored to the participants’ level and background.
