Four analog devices invite passersby to listen to the ephemeral sounds of the Pétrusse valley.
Around you, a multitude of sounds fills the air – from the gentle flow of the Pétrusse stream and the summer breeze rustling through the trees, to the hum of city traffic and planes soaring overhead from Luxembourg’s airport. Together, they create the layered – often conflicting – soundscape of the Pétrusse valley.
Composed of four Sound Detecting Machines, Aquacanta invites you to pause and tune into these fleeting and subtle sounds. Constructed from repurposed materials and using light welding techniques for easy disassembly, the Machines act as bridges to the surrounding sounds, highlighting the ephemeral and fragile nature of the Valley’s environment.
