The Black Diamond Camalot Z4, an upgraded Classic C4 cam, addresses common cam frustrations. It's a single-stem cam that remains rigid in-hand, thanks to the RigidFlex System, making placements in cracks easier. Once placed, the stem flexes, reducing the risk of the cam walking or adjusting. The Z4 features independently floating triggers, ensuring the cam doesn't bend under tension but allows stem movement for secure placements. Larger sizes use dual twisted cable construction for uniform flex, while smaller sizes use single cable construction to prevent buckling. With a similar head-width to the C3 design but sandblasted 4 lobes for better holding power, the Z4 is available in smaller sizes, from #0 (Black Diamond's smallest cam) to .75, offering a versatile tool for various climbing tasks.
